For this well-established children’s day nursery, Apprenticeships are a tried and tested method for recruiting, training and retaining long term staff. tpm helps them identify candidates for nursery assistant posts that arise, and then we provide the training and support to enable them to achieve their qualifications. Deputy manager, Nikki Tripp, who started working at the nursery almost 10 years ago, is herself an ex-apprentice. She has worked her way up through the organisation, and achieved her intermediate and advanced apprenticeship (levels 2 and 3) through tpm. This points to the positive impact a long term partnership with tpm can have. For many nurseries, we have become a fundamental cog in the mechanics of long term success, helping them mould young people into exemplary staff that fit in with their ways of working and providing childcare services.
