6 Steps to Getting an Apprenticeship through tpm
Step 1: Talk to us

Step 2: Meet with us
When we meet, we’ll explain everything you need to know about becoming an apprentice. We will ask you to complete a tpm application form. This tells us about your education, any special support you need, and what career you are interested in
Step 3: Employer applications and interviews
We’ll find you an apprenticeship with one of the local employers we work with and help you apply. If you are offered an interview, we’ll help you prepare for this.
Step 4: Initial assessment
Before you start your apprenticeship, we ask you to do a simple assessment on a computer. This tells us what support and resources to build into your individual training programme. It also makes sure you don’t waste time on your apprenticeship going over skills you already have.
Step 5: Induction
This is an introduction to your apprenticeship and training with tpm. This is when we let you know what is expected of you and what support you can get.
Step 6: Start work and training
You will usually start with your apprenticeship employer before your training actually begins with us. Once employed, you will be signed onto your training programme and given a timetable showing you when to come into thetpm training centre for weekly training sessions. tpm tutors will visit you regularly at your place of work to provide you with support and make sure you’re progressing.
