Hairdressing Intermediate Apprenticeship Level 2

This Apprenticeship is suited to those starting out in hairdressing in junior stylist roles. Hairdressing is a busy and creative career in a fashion conscious and people-centred environment. To succeed, you need to be creative, energetic and have some artistic flair, as well as enjoy meeting different people. You need to be punctual with good communication skills.

Typical length:
12 – 18 months

Entry requirements:
At least 16 years of age

Qualifications:
Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing
Level 2 Award in Employment Responsibilities and Rights

Topics include:
Advise and consult with clients; set and dress hair; style and finish hair; cut hair using basic techniques; colour and lighten hair; shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp. Optional topics include remove hair extensions; relax hair; perm and neutralise hair; plait and twist hair, temporary attachments

Key facts:
Students are employed in a professional salon throughout their Apprenticeship
Many students are kept on by the salon after they complete their training
Students can progress to Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3
