The benefits of using tpm Traineeships in your organisation are:

  • An opportunity to give a young person a work trial, before employing them onto an apprenticeship or a job in your organisation
  • Claim a financial incentive for £1000 for each trainee you provide over 70 hours of work experience for…. For up to 10 individuals.
  • Play your part in supporting young people’s development and employment.

What exactly is a tpm Traineeship?

A tpm Traineeship is a flexible training and work experience opportunity for school leavers and other individuals who aren’t ready to go onto an Apprenticeship. It gives them the chance to gain real work experience and job skills while improving English and maths skills if needed.

For employers, it’s a way of recruiting young people into your organisation and trialling them before committing to employ them. That way, you ensure you have the right person for the job.

tpm provides training for each individual on a Traineeship. We work closely with you to ensure trainees’ training reflects your organisation’s needs. We will also help you progress them onto a suitable apprenticeship if that is what you decide to do.

Employer responsibilities

To use Traineeships, employers must commit to providing:

  • a safe, meaningful and high-quality work experience placement
  • a minimum of 70 hours of work experience placement over the duration of the Traineeship constructive feedback and advice to the trainee
  • an interview for an apprenticeship or job in your organisation at the end of the Traineeship if one is available
  • an exit interview at the end of the Traineeship with meaningful written feedback if no job is available

Incentives

Employers who make new work placement opportunities available can claim an incentive payment of £1,000 per learner. You can claim this incentive for up to 10 trainees and decide how to use the money.
