A bit about me
I started out working in children’s nurseries, working my way up to a deputy manager role which included supporting staff. I was passionate about helping children develop and grow, and a desire to teach this knowledge to others led me into teaching. I’ve trained people for 16 years: 10 years teaching childcare skills, and the last 6 teaching employability skills, helping young people get into work and stay in employment. I also worked with schools for 3 years, teaching childcare skills to pupils.
My teaching style
I aim to make learning fun by teaching with passion and motivation, and always look for ways to make my sessions interesting and inspiring! I really want to make a difference in young people’s lives, giving them the skills and confidence to believe in themselves and get a good job. Often this means building their self-esteem and giving them the chance that others haven’t.
I am a football mum, taking my two boys to football every week and my daughter to ballet. I also enjoy socialising with family and friends, and walking to keep fit. I’m passionate about learning, and regularly go on courses to gain new skills that I can use at work with students.
