Arrangements for reopening of centre-based teaching and learning 07.09.2020

On the 7th of September 2020 tpm will resume a centre-based teaching and learning service at our new address in Shipwright’s House, Queens Dock Business Centre, L1 0BG.

We are proud and delighted that all learners progressed in accordance with our #tpmOnTarget campaign and that all of our teacher-assessed exam grades were upheld.

Our resumption of centre-based learning sessions will be in accordance with and subject to Government Guidance for FE Providers from September 2020:

As we return there are bound to be some anxieties and concerns and our staff will be contacting all learners from Monday 24.08.2020 to advise and guide about their particular days, times and groups (bubbles).

Please be assured that our new centre has been carefully refurbished and redesigned for our needs and sanitised for everyone’s health safety and comfort. You will remember we published our policy, procedures and risk assessments earlier during lockdown.

As a broad guide to learners and employers, the following table indicates what a typical college-based day would look like. The main difference will be that as opposed to a weekly attendance pattern we have changed this to attending fortnightly. This best accommodates the new apprenticeship standards, reduced class sizes (bubbles) and the Government’s specific guidelines.

So for example, if you are undertaking a childcare standard at L2 or L3 and already have English and maths at the requisite GCSE grades you will attend fortnightly between 1045 and 1445.

Childcare Standards:

0900 to 1030        Functional Maths, incl ICT

1045 to 1445        Childcare classes

1500 to 1630        Functional English, incl ICT

Team Leading, Customer Service and Business Administration Standards:

0900 to 1030        Functional Maths, incl ICT

6 to 8 weekly        Seminars, webinars, tutorials, coaching sessions
(dates & times TBC)

1500 to 1630        Functional Maths, incl ICT
